Privacy policy

KeysCompass is designed to be useful without requiring an account or asking for personal trip details.

Information collected

KeysCompass does not currently offer user accounts, checkout or public submissions. Standard hosting logs may record basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time of access for security, abuse prevention and reliability. Directory searches and the trip planner run in the visitor’s browser; saved trip stops and privacy choices stay in that browser’s local storage unless the visitor clears them. If a visitor emails KeysCompass, the message, sender address and any voluntarily supplied details are used to review the request, respond and maintain an appropriate record of directory corrections.

Google Analytics

KeysCompass uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate site use, such as which pages are visited, general device and browser information, approximate geography, referring pages and interactions with site features. Google Analytics may process identifiers, IP-derived information and cookies or similar technologies according to the visitor’s consent choice and Google’s policies. KeysCompass does not send names, email addresses, trip notes or other directly identifying form data to Google Analytics.

Advertising and third-party cookies

KeysCompass plans to use Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers, and use advertising cookies to serve, limit, personalize and measure ads based on visits to this site or other sites. Visitors can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses information from partner sites.

Your privacy choices

The privacy control available from every page allows visitors to accept or decline optional analytics and advertising storage. Declining does not block directory search, guides or the device-local trip planner. Visitors can reopen the control from the site footer, clear local storage in their browser or use browser settings to block third-party cookies. Where required, advertising will use a Google-certified consent management platform in addition to these site controls.

External links

Place pages link to government agencies, operators, map providers and business websites. Those destinations have their own privacy practices. Following an external link leaves KeysCompass and may result in data collection outside this policy.

Retention, children and changes

Operational logs are retained only as needed for security, debugging and lawful operation. KeysCompass is a general-audience travel directory and is not directed to children under 13. Material changes to this policy will be dated and published here. The terms of use explain additional conditions for using directory information.
